General Terms and Conditions (GTC)

- Scope and Contracting Party
(1) These General Terms and Conditions apply to all orders placed by consumers (within the meaning of § 13 German Civil Code – BGB) via the online shop “Wallet-Chains”.

- Offers and Product Descriptions
(1) I manufacture and sell, among other items, wallet chains, trouser chains, key chains, and key rings made of silver, stainless steel, brass, leather, and other materials.
(2) Two types of products are offered:
- Standard items (ready to ship within 1–3 business days)
- Custom-made or personalized items (e.g. custom lengths, engravings, modifications, or individually tailored designs)
(3) Variations in structure, surface, color tone, or patina are typical in metal craftsmanship and do not constitute a defect, provided functionality and quality are not affected.
- Conclusion of Contract
(1) The products displayed in the shop do not constitute a legally binding offer but an invitation to place an order.
(2) By completing the checkout process, you submit a binding order.
(3) The purchase contract is concluded when I expressly accept your order or dispatch the goods to you.
- Prices and Shipping Costs
(1) All prices are final prices in euros and include applicable German VAT.
(2) Shipping within Germany is free of charge.
(3) For international orders (EU and worldwide) below an order value of €150, shipping costs apply. These are displayed during checkout before payment.
(4) For deliveries outside the EU, additional customs duties, taxes, or fees may apply. These costs are borne by the buyer.
- Delivery and Shipping
(1) Shipping within Germany is usually carried out via DHL.
(2) International shipping is usually carried out via DHL or UPS.
(3) Delivery time within Germany is typically 1–3 business days after receipt of payment.
(4) International delivery times may vary depending on the destination country.
(5) You will receive tracking information after dispatch.
(6) I ship worldwide, provided there are no legal or logistical restrictions in the destination country.
- Payment Terms
(1) Payment is due immediately at checkout and can be made via credit card (e.g. Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, American Express), PayPal, or instant payment services such as Klarna or Sofort.
(2) By placing the order, you confirm that the selected payment method may be charged.
(3) The goods remain my property until full payment has been received (retention of title).
- Retention of Title
The goods remain my property until full payment has been made. Ownership is transferred only upon full payment of the purchase price.
- Right of Withdrawal for Consumers
8.1 Right of Withdrawal for Standard Items
(1) If you are a consumer, you have a statutory right of withdrawal of 14 days from receipt of the goods for standard items.
(2) To exercise your right of withdrawal, a clear statement (e.g. by email) is sufficient.
(3) In the event of withdrawal, you must return the goods promptly and no later than 14 days after notifying me.
(4) You bear the direct cost of returning the goods.
8.2 Exclusion of Withdrawal for Custom-Made Items
(1) There is no right of withdrawal for items that are individually made according to your specifications, personalized, produced in custom lengths, engraved, or otherwise permanently tailored to your needs.
(2) This exclusion does not apply if the delivered custom-made item is objectively defective.
8.3 Defective Items / Goodwill
(1) If an item—standard or custom-made—arrives damaged or defective, please contact me directly.
(2) My goal is always a fast and straightforward solution. In such cases, I primarily offer a professional repair free of charge or, if not possible, an appropriate replacement or corrective solution.
- Warranty (Liability for Defects)
(1) Statutory warranty rights apply. For new goods, the warranty period is two years from delivery.
(2) Individually refurbished or vintage items may legally be considered “used goods.” In such cases, the warranty period may be reduced to one year for consumers. This will be clearly stated in the product description prior to purchase.
(3) Normal signs of use, patina, aging, or intentional surface finishes (e.g. darkened brass, vintage finish) do not constitute a defect, provided functionality is not impaired.
- Liability
(1) I am fully liable for damages caused by intent or gross negligence, as well as for injury to life, body, or health.
(2) In cases of slight negligence, I am only liable for breaches of essential contractual obligations. In such cases, liability is limited to foreseeable, typical damages.
(3) Any further liability is excluded.
(4) The above limitations of liability also apply to my agents and subcontractors.
- Consumer Dispute Resolution / § 36 VSBG
(1) I am not obliged to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
(2) I am not willing to participate in such proceedings voluntarily.
(3) This information is provided prior to the conclusion of the contract.
- Applicable Law
(1) German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG).
(2) For consumers within the EU, this choice of law applies only insofar as it does not restrict mandatory consumer protection provisions of the country in which the consumer has their habitual residence.
- Safety Notice / Use
(1) My products contain metal components such as chain links, clasps, carabiners, and small parts.
(2) Not suitable for children under 3 years. Risk of injury, choking, or strangulation due to small parts and chain elements.
(3) Please keep products out of reach of young children.
